EDU IMBERNON

Sprouting from city of “valour” – Valencia – songwriter, producer, remixer, DJ and label owner, the multifaceted artist Edu Imbernon is a truly global electronic music proposition.

It was during the years 2008 and 2009 that Edu exploded onto the international electronic music landscape. Firstly, “El Baile Alemán” on Liebe Detail, produced with his friend Coyu was appointed “Best Underground Track of the Year” by Beatport and stayed at #1 for 2 solid weeks. Secondly, his label Elektisch was born. Over the past 5 years, Edu has curated original music and remixes from the likes of Pleasurekraft, Blond:ish, Hot Since 82, Solomun and David August for the imprint, as well as close friends and newer talents Los Soruba, Sivesgaard and Dosem.

Edu’s unique blend of electronica, house and indie has seen him come into his own as a remixer. His anthemic remix of The XX”s “Crystalised”, from their stratospheric “xx” album, proved to be Young Turks best selling remix to date. Follow up remixes of Maya Jane Coles’ “You” for Hypercolour, X-Press 2’s monster “Lazy”; and more recently Hot Natured’s “Emerald City” and Metronomy’s “I’m Aquarius” have cemented him as a top tier remixer.
From the lounge bars of Lebanon, forests of Brazil and the magic of Goa, all the way to the Miami bayfront for Ultra Music Festival, the open air madness of the Kings Day street party, Amsterdam, and the hallowed terrace of Space Ibiza, as resident; Edu’s truly global touring schedule continues to broaden. With over 120 shows across 40 countries over 5 continents in 2014, new ground keeps getting broken, while the “Fayer” brand continues to grow.
In late 2012 “Fayer” was born, starting as a small non regular 300 person event in the upstairs room of La Tres club in Valencia. 2 years later Fayer has grown into a record label, event and clothing brand, hosting events in clubs and at festivals to thousands of people at a time, month in, month out.

The label arm focuses on bridging the gap between the song based worlds of indie and electronica and the more club focused sounds of house and techno music. Thus far the label has featured music from Qtier, David August, Agoria, Bambook, Metronomy and Edu himself; achieving a Beatport #2, over 500,000 plays online, multiple BBC Radio 1 plays and support from Mixmag, NME, Hypetrak, Earmilk, DIY and Pigeons & Planes.

The Valencia Fayer residency have seen the likes of Solomun, Hot Since 82, Tiga, Alex Metric, Los Suruba and Henry Saiz feature over the last 12 months; the events flourishing after a move to new 1200 capacity venue Veracruz.

Edu opens the year with a remix of WhoMadeWho’s “Right Track”, 3 stand out sets at BPM Festival, Mexico and Fayer 003 about to drop; as well as multiple original tracks ready to drop on some of the scene’s leading record labels.
