Michael Rossi is Almost Human. Almost Human is Michael Rossi. This former race car driver from Miami (although he was born to Southern California) is the third of the residents. He is also label manager for Los Suruba’s labels and feel really comfortable in the studio. Soon we’ll see the outcomes of this hard work.

Tell us your relationship with music:
Growing up in southern California it was was mostly alternative music and rock bands. My father in his early Detroit days was a drummer, and I guess like most people at an early age you grow up listening to your parents records.
It wasn’t until later, about mid 90’s listening to the radio on one of my first times to Italy where electronic music hit me. I was in shock and thinking we don’t have these kinds of station back at home?!! And that’s where my curiosity and journey in electronic music begun.

Which are the genres you feel comfortable playing with?:
There is a lot of styles in each genre. For me the music has to take you somewhere, like a trip. It needs to move you and should be emotional, something you feel not just sounds you hear. If your not feeling the good shit, your probably too Human. But from the genres I suppose it mainly techno/ electronica.

How would you describe Fayer?:
Quality. Great sound system. Latest Music. Top artists from around the world. Family. It doesn’t get better than that.

And Edu Imbernon?:
Edu Imbernon, What a talent. You have to give it to him, he’s as good as its gets, and if you don’t know it yet, your probably not listening close enough. He’s a leader and definitely had a huge impact on my career and life in music. I thank him for that. Apart from that, what a human. He, and have to say Chantelle, have been so great to me. Next level humans.

What brings you being a resident of Fayer?:
Since the day Edu asked me to come to Spain and be a resident at his events, it’s been nothing but a pleasure. I mean it’s really great to travel to new countries and play in front of new faces, but to play (the best) party with your best mates, to an amazing crowd is the best. Fayer is family and I’m honored to be part of it.

How do you see the scene in Valencia?: Valencia is really a great city and would recommend it to most anyone. There’s a few different scenes here you could say within the electronic music umbrella, which is cool I guess. I feel quite spoiled as I’m right in the place where I want to be, the “house” where I can play and do what I’m most passionate about. They also really like to party here (for days, and days…. and days)

Este antiguo piloto de carreras proveniente de Miami (aunque nació en California) es, además de el tercero de los residentes de Fayer, label manager de los sellos de Los Suruba. Se desempeña como pez en el agua en un estudio. Pronto veremos el fruto de ese duro trabajo.

Cuéntanos tu relación con la música:
El hecho de haber crecido en el sur de California me hizo interesarme principalmente por la música alternativa y las bandas de rock. Mi padre, en los inicios de Detroit tocaba la batería y supongo que, como todos cuando somos jóvenes, creces escuchando los discos de tus padres.
Aunque no fue hasta más tarde, por mitad de los 90, escuchando la radio una de las primeras veces que viajé a Italia que la música electrónica me golpeó. Me quedé en estado de shock y pensando por qué no teníamos una cadena de radio con esa música en mi ciudad. Ahí fue cuando mi curiosidad y mi viaje en la electrónica comenzó.

¿En qué estilos te sientes más cómodo?
En realidad hay muchos estilos en cada género. Para mi la música tiene que transportarte a alguna parte, como un viaje. Tiene que moverte y ser emocional, algo que sientas de verdad no sólo sonidos que oyes. Si no sientes la buena música, probablemente eres demasiado humano.
En cuanto a los géneros, principalmente techno / electronica.

¿Cómo describirías Fayer?
Calidad. Buen sonido. Música nueva. Artistas mundialmente top. Familia.
No puede ser mejor…

¿Y a Edu Imbernon?
Edu Imbernon, qué talento… Es mejor, imposible. Y quien no lo sepa es que no lo conoce lo suficiente. Es un líder y, definitivamente, ha tenido una gran influencia en mi vida y mi carrera musical. Le estoy muy agradecido pro ello. Aparte de eso, qué humano… Él y Chantelle (su novia) han sido muy buenos conmigo. Otro nivel de personas.

¿Cómo ves la escena de la música electrónica en Valencia?
Valencia es una ciudad increíble que recomendaría a todo el mundo. Hay unas cuantas escenas diferentes aquí dentro del paraguas de la música electrónica, lo que supongo que es bueno. La verdad es que me siento privilegiado por poder estar en el sitio que quiero y la “casa” en la que puedo tocar mi música y hacer lo que me apasiona. Además aquí a la gente le gusta mucho la fiesta (durante días y días… y días).

¿Qué te ha aportado el ser residente de Fayer?

Desde que Edu me comentó si me venía a España y ser residente de sus fiestas no ha sido más que un placer. O sea, mola mucho poder viajar a nuevos países y pinchar delante de caras nuevas, pero pinchar en una fiesta (la mejor) con tus mejores colegas delante de un público increíble es lo mejor. Fayer es una familia y es un honor formar parte de ella.
