Fixing Fires EP OUT NOW

 In Fayer

Edu Imbernon embarks on his first release for his own Fayer imprint, the fourth from the label.

Bridging the gap between the song based worlds of indie and electronica and the more club focused sounds of house and techno, the beginnings of Fayer as a record label have been successful to say the least. The first trio of releases have featured music from the likes of David August, Agoria and Adriatique, alongside Edu himself, and songs from Qtier, Metronomy and WhoMadeWho. These have achieved two Beatport number 1s thus far, alongside extensive BBC Radio 1 (Pete Tong, Annie Mac, B.Traits), Club (Dixon, Sasha, Solomun) and Press support (NME, Mixmag and DIY). There’s been no resting on laurels for the Fayer event series either, having hosted the likes of Ame, Solomun, Jamie Jones, Tiga and Hot Since 82 in the last 12 months.

Fixing Fires was born in Edu’s beachside studio on the outskirts of his hometown Valencia, a collaboration featuring the vocals and instrumentation of Archivist and the songwriting and instrumentation of jazz musician Rory Simmons (Blur, Friendly Fires, Paulo Nutini, Jamie Cullum live bands).

The original has been been reshaped and remixed by the diva of the deep, Maya Jane Coles, who wraps the vocal in a blanket of bass and pulsing beats to create a warm and uplifting take on the original.

Fixing Fires comes off the back of yet another highly successful spring and summer period for Imbernon including dates at Coachella, TomorrowLand and Benacassim as well as his now legendary Space Ibiza residency, and looks to continue Fayer’s rise as both a go to label and event series carving its own unique path in electronic music.
